Fortunately we had great weather as Brice “chauffeured” us from Paris to the Loire Valley for some very tasty wines… oh! and goat cheese.
We met and left around 7am for a 1.5 – 2 hour ride to the beautiful Loire valley. After driving for about 45 minutes, we stopped at a croissanterie (I know, I never heard of a croissanterie either and I think I got that spelling right…) but it was a such a welcomed stop and oh so delicious!
Our first stop was a goat farm, where they produced some amazing and tasty goat cheeses, which we sampled and if desired, purchased.
The two wineries (one in Tracy-sur-Loire and one in Sancerre) showcased mostly Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly-Fuissé. All the wines we sampled were delicious and with different pallets, some more-so than others.
In between the two wineries, we stopped at Le Rempart, a wonderful little eatery that served some very delicious meals with wine.
Brice is an excellent guide and interpreter. I’m not sure how many languages he speaks, but I’m sure it’s more than French and English.
The cost may seem a little high, but with the croissanterie and luncheon included. we all felt the time was well spent.
