We had an amazing day with Brice on our wine tour in Sancerre.
From our first interaction we felt like we had a friend taking us on a day trip. He was kind, thoughtful and so knowledgeable about the wines and the region.
We had great conversations along the drive to Sancerre and had a brief stop for delicious coffee (which he brought from home, so nice!). During coffee and a Pain au chocolat he walked us through the itinerary for the day and educated us on the region and the types of wines.
First stop was the farm where we saw how they make the goat cheese and tasted some of the cheeses, which were excellent. We had a brief stop in to see the goats, but they are very busy eating. 😄
Our first tasting Brice did with us himself, which shows the trusted relationships he has with these small local winemakers. It made for a special experience. Next up lunch and more wine! We had a delicious hearty meal and a glass of wine. We then stopped in the village of Sancerre for about an hour to explore.
Finally we set off for our 2nd tasting and met Stephanie, one of the owners. She took us on the tour and did the tasting. Even though she was speaking in French and Brice translated we felt a nice connection with her. She was excellent and didn’t rush and you can tell she is proud of her family owned winery.
We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique, local wine experience. Brice is fabulous and we feel like we now have a friend in France!
